On February 2, 2008, 24-year-old real estate agent Lindsay Buziak arrived at a vacant home in Saanich, British Columbia, for what should have been a routine showing.

The appointment had started with a strange phone call.

A woman claiming that she and her husband needed a million-dollar home said Lindsay had been referred to them. Lindsay tried to find out who had given the woman her private number, but none of her previous clients seemed to know anything about it. The opportunity sounded promising. It also felt wrong.

Lindsay agreed to meet the couple anyway. Witnesses saw her greet an unidentified man and woman outside the house shortly after 5:30 that evening. The three of them went inside.

Lindsay never came back out.

Within minutes, she had been murdered in an upstairs bedroom. The man and woman disappeared, leaving behind a false story, calls traced to a prepaid phone and one of Canada’s most unsettling unsolved cases.

More than eighteen years later, their identities remain unknown.

There are cases that feel buried beneath a lack of evidence. This one feels different. The structure is visible. The invitation, the house and the couple were all real. Someone built the trap carefully enough for us to see its outline, but not who created it or why.

That is where I began this reading.

I was not asking the cards to give me a name or solve a murder. Tarot cannot establish guilt or replace evidence. I wanted to see what the cards might reveal about how this trap came together, what may have been overlooked and whether an old direction deserves another look.

And almost as soon as I laid these cards down, I knew this reading was different.

Before I had interpreted a single card, the spread felt heavy. Darker than any investigative reading I had done before. Swords appeared again and again, and by the time I reached the fifth position, one question entered my mind so sharply that I stopped:

Was Lindsay stabbed?

Lindsay’s name had been on my reading list for a while, but I remembered almost none of the details of her case when I pulled the cards.

She was.

About This Reading

This reading uses tarot as a symbolic framework to explore the conditions surrounding an unresolved murder. It does not identify Lindsay’s killers, accuse any living person or present the cards as evidence. Where the cards seem to brush against known facts, I will say so. Where they move into possibility, I will leave that possibility open.
